When instructors say your sources have to be “scholarly” or “academic,” what do they mean? Why does it matter? And how can you be sure you recognize peer review when you see it?
In this 1-hour workshop, designed specifically for first-year students, we’ll answer these questions and give you a chance to practice what you learn. You'll leave confident in your ability to determine whether a source is peer-reviewed, scholarly, semi-scholarly, and most importantly, appropriate for your academic work.
Odile Harter, Widener Research Librarian, will lead the workshop.
