Apply for Piano Loan Program by September 14

September 12, 2018
Dear Members of the Class of 2022,
The First-Year Experience Office is excited to announce the piano loan program, available only to first-year students. Thanks to the generous donation of a Harvard alumnus, 11 Yamaha AvantGrand hybrid pianos are available for use within individual student suites for the duration of the academic year. These volume-controlled special pianos can be played silently with headphones. Given that they will be placed in student suites, all roommates' permission must be obtained, and it is expected that the pianos will be played without volume at all times.
Students interested in being a recipient of the piano loan should submit an application by Friday, September 14 at 11:59 pm. A committee of representatives from the FYE and the Office for the Arts will review all applications and create a pool of eligible students. From this pool, 11 students will be chosen at random. Students will be notified, and pianos will be delivered in mid- to late-September.
This is a unique opportunity for dedicated pianists to enjoy throughout the academic year. Please consider your commitment carefully before applying. Any questions can be directed to Abby Cohen.
With best wishes,
The First-Year Experience Office
