Dear Members of the Class of 2022:
The First-Year Experience Office will host a small, private dinner at the Harvard Faculty Club on Tuesday, December 4, at 7:00 pm, at which a select group of 10 first-year students will have a chance to dine with Katie O'Dair, Dean of Students at Harvard College. If you are interested in this exceptional opportunity and can commit to attending from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, please apply.
As Dean of Students, Katie O'Dair oversees Harvard’s distinctive residential and co-curricular experience including first-year Yard life, the unique upper-class House system, student engagement, leadership, and creating an inclusive and welcoming community experience for Harvard students. Dean O'Dair joined the Harvard College community in 2016. Her professional experience spans nearly three decades, and most recently she served as the associate vice president for Student Affairs at Boston College and prior to that as Assistant Dean in the division of student life at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dean O'Dair holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, a master’s degree in student personnel and counseling from Northeastern University, and a PhD in higher education from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. Her expertise and scholarly interests include student engagement, student learning, and assessment in student affairs.
This Faculty Club dinner is part of the FYE’s Gober Family Uncommon Fare program, designed to give first-year students a chance to meet outstanding members of the Harvard community, to meet one another, and to see what is truly special about the College, all made possible by a generous gift. We certainly hope you can join us!
