Katie oversees all pre-orientation programs, manages the Calendar of Opening Days, and leads College-wide initiatives to foster students' personal transformation.
She first joined the Freshman Dean's Office in July 2007 as the Director of Freshman Programming after five years at Sewanee: The University of the South. At Sewanee, Katie worked for three and a half years as Assistant Dean of Students and one and a half years as the Director of Residential Life. After graduating with a bachelor's in religion from Colgate University, Katie worked in residential life at Middlebury College. In 2002, she earned a master's degree in education, with a concentration in higher education administration, from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is excited about getting to know as many students as possible.
Although Katie is originally from Bethesda, MD she feels very much at home in New England and enjoys all that life in Cambridge has to offer. In her spare time, she likes to travel, play games, cook, go to sports events, arrange flowers, and visit with family and friends.
